Uncabunca bar in Robertson Quay is a West Ham bar.
Strangely enough the time I went there was a couple of years ago when we had WBA away in the 3-3 game. Enjoy! .

Arrived today , went out for a look around. Popped into a boozer about 20 quid for 3 pints.
Like a prick I started smoking again about 2 weeks ago, this is not a place to be a smoker by the looks of it , Not inside or outside a pub or in the street designated smoking areas only.
Having said that nice to be in a civilized country after 13 years in Asia. Good roads , considerate driving and decent public transport

All the best to you with your move.
I will be in Singapore in mid September for 3 days. We are meeting up with my wives sister and her husband, then taking a cruise up the West coast of the Malay peninsular and back via Bali to Perth. Looking forward to it and we are celebrating my sister-in-laws 60th.
Maybe we can catch up for a beer in Singapore? If so I'll who mail you nearer the time with possible details.

West Ham 67.
Very fair point mate and understandable. You have lived very close to the arsehole of the world on a number of occasions since you left Dag-en-ham. If I were you , for many reasons, Singapore would be excellent.
My perspective of Singapore comes from someone that only passed through, but spent around 3 months there in one year. I love the food and the general vibe but my comments as a passionless place are true for me.

Be nice to be somewhere you can post a letter of request a Bank statement without it taking half a day, A place with decent public transport , good roads and unbent poice

JW had a good browse yesterday. Looking at the MRT I doubt the longest journey takes more than 40 minutes . So I am looking around the changi side , dont fancy moving again after 3 months. Fucking expensive where ever you look, Studios at about 50k Baht, 2 bed 100k baht. I'll be working direct for SMRT so should be free travel but its cheap as chips anyway

Think it depends how many constitute "a few".
How about short term (3-6 month) apartment close to the current office, then a bridging hotel until the move, then a longer term rent close to the new location.

Re: Singapore

Rents have come off in the last year by about 25-30% due to the restrictions the govt has put on housing...and the number of expats who've gotten turfed in finance and gone home.
Examples are, places that were going for about 4.6k SGD a month are now available at 3k SGD
But middle of the town Orchard / Newton e.g what falls under District 9 and 10...they're jampacked as it is..and rents there haven't moved down as much. IIf you're open to moving a little north or east...which is just like 5-10 mins extra on the tube...you can get some good deals on housing at the moment.

It can get a lot naughtier after a few beers at four floors, but those ladies are generally not from Singapore.

Sweeping your spent peanut shells onto the floor in the Long Bar is as 'naughty' as it gets in Singapore.

West Ham 67.
I like Singapore, it's clean, sanitized almost, and it is safe and it's devoid of creativity and it is boring .
It just has no soul, The people seemed to be interested in only material things and the arts, music even sport is passionless. It is as if everyone that lives there is on some sort of tranquillizer that only abates at the mention of money, or something to do with money.
Not wishing to sound pessimistic but I would go completely bonkers if I lived there as opposed to being slightly bonkers living in Australia!

The 'Extreme' North to the 'Extreme' South East is about 5 miles isn't it?

Re: Singapore

You have a bit of thinking to do there with that then. Paying over over 100k is way too high, obviously, plus your family won't be able to stay. Short term North then move to the 'deep south' seems your best bet as you won't have loads of stuff to shift, but need to consider losing your deposit if it's only for 2 months, etc.

Thanks mate
Accommodation is my biggest concern ,,They are moving their office in a few Months from the extreme North to the extreme South east, So I either get a apartment central and travel or a shout term in the north and then migrate south when the office moves. Not cheap either, studio and one bedroom gaffs in the city are rocking over 100,000bt
